Arrows: Feasts of the LORD

The High Holy Days begin with the Blowing of Trumpets
in the appointed Feasts of the LORD Leviticus 23
A perfect opportunity for you to share in the observance
with the Tel Aviv Tiferet Yeshua Congregation
Saturday Sept 19 Israel Time and 2 PM US/Eastern Standard Time
We are moving into the High Holidays when everyone is busy, busy in Israel with holiday preparations with families and congregations, visitors to Israel, distribution of humanitarian aid to new immigransts, the needy and Holocaust survivors. I wanted to send out this early notice of the approaching holidays so you can lock in how you would like to be a participant with some of the Israeli ministries who will be doing special online events like this Zoom from the heart of Tiferet Yeshua in Tel Aviv.
The spiritual meaning of the Feast of Trumpets is not just about what happened in the past, it is about what is going to happen in the future – maybe even in our own time. Details in the first report below.

Arrows from Zion Summary of Prayer Points for Israeli Ministries
Prayer Requests & the Chronicles of the Remnant of Faith in Israel

Moti Cohen, native Israeli who leads the Tiferet Yeshua congregation in Tel Aviv (Zoom invitation above) The team writes, “In a little over a week, here in Israel and in Jewish communities around the world, the shofar will sound as we observe the Day of Trumpeting (commonly called Rosh HaShanah). God gave the children of Israel the biblical high holidays as a guidepost for His times and seasons by which they ordered their lives practically and spiritually. For us today, the high holidays are an invitation from God to slow down from our routines, to examine our lives and to seek His face. “Mark your calendar and join us for this special time to hear a teaching from Moti about the significance of God’s ordained “times and seasons.” We will also have a question and answer time and mutual prayer. We look forward to seeing you then!”

Guy Cohen, another native Israeli here with wife Tali, leads the far northern port city of Acco’s Harvest of Asher congregation. It gets its name from being in the parcel of land that was given to the tribe of Asher. Guy also teaches on The Feast of Trumpets: When the People Once Again Encounter the Word of God “In Nehemiah 8, we encounter a special moment in the history of Israel. The people have returned from exile, the walls of Jerusalem have been rebuilt, and now the time has come for a deeper restoration, the restoration of the heart and of their relationship with God. (Sound familiar? Read it online) Nehemiah 8:2, Leviticus 23:24 and Numbers 29:1 – “At the center of the story is the renewed encounter of the people with the Word of God. . . . But the Day of Trumpets also turns our eyes toward the future. Yeshua spoke about the day when He will return and gather His chosen ones: “He will send His angels with a great trumpet, and they will gather His elect” (Matthew 24:31). Paul describes the same hope: “The trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised” (1 Corinthians 15:52), and also, “The Lord Himself will descend from heaven… with the trumpet of God” (1 Thessalonians 4:16).”
Pray for 2 with serious health issues in the congregation: V and S.

Here is a wonderful resource from Israel Pochtar, here with his wife Vicki, from the Ashdod Beit Hallel Congregation. Pastor Pochtar has been sharing these powerful Hebrew Word inspirational teachings for a long time, but I’ve never had space to share them. Now you can visit their website here and feast at the banqueting table of the meanings biblical words in Hebrew. I loved this one: Lev Tahor – a clean heart.
VIDEO Exhortation from Israel Pochtar The God Who Waits to Be Gracious | VIDEO When Idols Fall and the Gospel Rises: Standing here in Ashdod, it is remarkable to realize how many layers of biblical history are beneath our feet. This is a city where the Philistines once carried the Ark of the Covenant as a trophy of victory, believing they had defeated not only Israel, but Israel’s God. Centuries later, the same city appears again in the New Testament—this time not as the place where an idol stood before the Ark, but as a place where the Gospel was being proclaimed….Scripture declares the same truth: God is greater…| Still Room: Bringing Israelis to the Galilee to Hear the Gospel – There is a particular feeling in Israel as Rosh HaShanah and Sukkot draw near. Families begin preparing, tables will soon fill, and across the country we enter a season woven deeply into the biblical story of our people—a time that naturally turns hearts toward what has been, what lies ahead, and the faithfulness of God through generations. |
Alyona’s testimony | When Men Pray for One Another: Stronger Together | When God Says, “I Myself” – There are seasons when we become painfully aware of everything in our lives that still needs to change. . . .Again and again, God draws our attention away from what we can accomplish and back to who He is. Avi Mizrachi, here with wife Chaya, leads Dugit Ministries in Tel Aviv tells us why their outreach HaOgen café is so important: Because café culture is such a central part of Life in Tel Aviv. In Tel Aviv, cafés are much more than a place to grab a cup of coffee. They are where people meet, work, think, talk, connect, and spend time together. Tel Aviv is a young, fast-paced city and one of Israel’s main high-tech hubs. Many people work remotely or hold meetings outside the office, so it is completely normal to see business meetings taking place over coffee. You’ll find young professionals and students working on their laptops, entrepreneurs discussing their next idea, friends catching up between meetings, and mothers on maternity leave meeting together with their babies.
Over the years, we have seen how naturally questions about faith, God, the Bible, and Yeshua can come up around a table. Our desire is for HaOgen to be a welcoming place where people feel comfortable staying, talking, asking questions, and building relationships – and where we can openly share the Good News of Yeshua with those who are searching.
This is why the renovation is so much more than a fresh coat of paint or new furniture. We are preparing a space that we pray will serve as a light in the heart of Tel Aviv for many years to come. There is still more work ahead, but every step brings us closer to reopening the doors and welcoming people back in. Please pray for the renovation process, the serving team and everyone who will walk through our doors. Donations here for our renovation.

Chaim Malespin of the Aliyah Return Center gives tribute in Honoring a pioneer of Israel – Terri Morey. He writes, “When I first moved to the Galilee, after growing up in the center of Israel, I had only a few connections. I arrived with my dear wife and baby son, and a heart passionate to help new olim thrive in Israel. This incredible couple, Eric and Terri, opened up their arms wide and helped us get acquainted with the new area and build the ARC. Both of them made Aliyah from California and were just as, or maybe more, excited about Aliyah. Almost immediately, we would gather weekly to pray for those making Aliyah.

Terri Morey, who was about to celebrate her 90th birthday, passed away this past week. And I want to honor her as a mother of Israel. She has touched countless peoples lives in Israel and all around the world. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy. Her excitement for the Word of God, Israel, Aliyah, family, etc., never slowed down. She made me her delicious soup just the other week! I will miss her dearly. She gave so much of herself to others, all the way to the very end. Eric likewise. They have been a power couple together. It seems that those who have experienced Aliyah and know the challenges it carries, still feel the drive to want to help those following behind us.
Pioneers! And we certainly would not be able to do this on our own. Your support fuels the many projects that the ARC provides to support new olim in Israel. Just this past week, we had a couple of events that we have been spending the last month preparing for. Like a tree that is newly planted, it needs to be watered and tended to help it grow big and strong. And this is what the new Jewish immigrants need as well. With some loving tender care, their roots will go deep, so they can flourish in the land and bear good fruit!
As God promised: “I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them,” Amos 9:15 Consider partnering with us monthly.
Your support helps keep the doors open for our distribution centers, Hebrew school, home for lone soldiers, rehabilitation center for soldiers with PTSD, scholarships, grocery cards for those struggling financially, and community events.

Ruby Bishai gives the Fields of Wheat report for the recent Katzir youth camp, and one of the messages he gave to the teens is one that we all need: Who defines your Identity? he Traditional view of identity looks outside of ourselves to tell us who we are. In this view our family, community, social expectations, or culture create our identity. The Modern view of identity tells us to do the opposite: look inside ourselves, discover our deepest desires, and then build our identity around them. But both approaches can leave us carrying an enormous burden.
If my value comes from the approval of the people around me, what happens when they are disappointed in me? And if I am responsible for creating my own identity and proving my own worth, what happens when I fail, change, or simply don’t feel like I am enough?
The Gospel gives us another answer. Our identity in Yeshua is not something we achieve. It is something we receive!
Seven teenagers made the decision to give their lives to Jesus during the camp! We are deeply grateful for what God did during these days….Our hope is not simply that they would remember a great week at camp, but that years from now they would still remember this truth: I do not have to create my own worth. I do not have to earn my identity. In Yeshua, I am known, loved, and called by God.
You have a part in this story. Will you pray for them and donate to the work we do.

Howard Bass of Nachalat Yeshua/Yeshua’s Inheritance in Beer Sheva writes “There is a spiritual veil over the children of Israel/the Jewish people regarding the truth of the Messiah and Lord being Yeshua/Jesus, and regarding the mystery of the gospel which makes both Jews and Gentiles equal in God’s eyes as to intrinsic worth: all are sinners for whom Messiah/Christ died; and for all who are saved among both there is total equality for the inheritance from the Father of eternal life and the Kingdom of God. (2Cor 3:7-18) There is also a veil over the nations regarding the truth of YHVH God — the one true living God — and the unique calling and relationship of Israel the nation and of the Jewish people. (Is 25:6-9) Repentance from unbelief, to belief in the true gospel opens the eyes of the blind! … Yet, as we learn from the experience of Cornelius, they need a Peter to go tell them how to be saved!
Howard also writes about a ‘camp’ of sorts too – the Coordinating Committee met for the Sitting At Yeshua’s Feet gatherings of Israeli Messianic ministry leaders. Along with their wives, they met “in the northern western Galilee, in a Muslim Arab village, to enjoy a day of fellowship in a field owned by one of the committee members, Anis Barhoum, and his wife Nawal. We even planted a guava tree in the field, and ate the fruit of Anis and his family’s wonderful and whole-hearted loving hospitality. SAYF is a national leadership prayer retreat of Jewish, Arab, and “others”, held twice a year, usually in the Negev at Sde Boker. We have doing this since 2000, through intifadas and wars among our peoples, both within Israel, and from outside. It is a testing of our commitment to the Lord’s new commandment to love one another (among the brothers and sisters in the faith) as He has loved us, and to strive to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, wanting to be in the answer of the Father to our Lord’s prayer for unity and love among us even as He and the Father are one. Totally supernatural and divine!

Reuven Doron of One New Man Today sends this good news about updating his book, One New Man, and here is a taste: “The First of Nations | “The apostle Paul was the main father figure for the first generation of Gentile believers who were drawn from pagan idol infested backgrounds into the true Faith of the God of Israel. Instructing these young believers (who were just born again) about their New Identity in Messiah, the Jewish apostle felt it was necessary to remind them of their natural origins. In fact, Paul did not mince words as he reminded his spiritual children in Ephesus that not too long ago they were still (1) without Christ… (2) aliens from the commonwealth of Israel… (3) strangers from the covenants of promise, (4) having no hope and (5) without God in the world. Ouch! These Gentile believers were the “Wild Olive Branches” that were (and still are) grafted, by faith, into the “Cultured Olive Tree” of God. (Romans 11). Welcome home!
“First of Nations” chapter from our freshly re-written ONE NEW MAN book. If you would like to get this in an ebook for FREE, just go to Reuven’s website and sign up for his weekly prayer letter. I can highly recommend both the book & the prayer letter. Watch this VIDEO and hear new things you may have never thought about directly from the pages of Bible.
In an earlier prayer letter, Reuven wrote: “Asaf, who was King David’s national worship leader, wrote this Psalm (46). He describes his perspective of the nation’s spiritual condition, giving us an insight into the Hebraic mind of the authors of the biblical text. Asaf points to four different “levels” of spiritual maturity which he describes as JUDAH, ISRAEL, SALEM, and Zion. Each “level” grants its own rewards, yet ultimate victory is available ONLY IN ZION. Watch the video for a deeper view.

Sally Shiff my friend at the Kfar Saba HaMaayan congregation sends a brief update: “Our Feast of Trumpets (Yom HaTruah/Rosh Hashanah) begins on Sept 11th. Which is the same day as the 25th anniversary of 9/11. I cannot help but think this is not a coincidence. My heart is very concerned about the United States and her current condition, almost like a spiritual civil war. I am praying for the intercessors and the entire United States church to rise up and pray for America. Pray for God’s truth and discernment according to the Bible, I saw even within the church, division. Allowing politics to rise above God’s ways.
After Rosh Hashanah, 10 days later is the holiest day of the Jewish year, Yom Kippur (day of Atonement). The entire nation shuts down to fast and pray. To seek God. Mandated in Leviticus 23:26 -32…. 32 “It shall be to you a sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict your souls; on the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall celebrate your sabbath.” And it is still honored today, not only in the nation of Israel, but throughout the entire Jewish nation.
For the four days in between the two holidays, we at Hamaayan spend each evening praying for a specific subject: Deeper relationship, repentance before Yeshua and forgive others | strengthening of marriages and families | Salvation of family members and friends and the nation of Israel. | Protection of Israel from our enemies (not only physical, but spiritually as well)| and for Hamaayan, for God to strengthen our call, direct our leaders and members. Make contact with Sally through this email.

Stefan and Keren Silver lead Kerem El/God’s Vineyard, the daughter congregation of the Carmel Congregation.” Our IDF soldiers are still engaged both in Gaza and along the Lebanese border, where sadly lives have been lost and others wounded. Meanwhile, preparations are underway in Israel for the upcoming elections on October 27. The outcome could have a significant impact on the lives of all our people. Needless to say, this is a crucial time to be praying for Israel, and we are very grateful for your faithful partnership in prayer.
Despite all that is going on around us, we continue to see the mighty hand of the Lord at work in our congregation. Recently, we had the joy of witnessing the baptism of one of our young men….
especially moving to see him surrounded by some of his fellow soldiers, as well as friends and members of the congregation. . . .two of our young men were enlisted in the army at the beginning of August and have now begun training for combat units.. . .Please join us in praying that the Lord will protect them, strengthen their faith and help them to be a light to those serving alongside them.
Renewed Initiative for Seniors….The group is intended for believers aged 60 and over, and we are looking forward to seeing what the Lord will do through it….Please pray that these meetings will be a real source of encouragement, that relationships will grow stronger, and that the Lord will use the group to reach others.
Kabbalat Shabbat | Our Friday evening Shabbat meals continue to be a much-loved part of congregational life. They provide a relaxed time for families and singles alike to sit together, enjoy fellowship and encourage one another.
“….we have now begun a new study of 1 Peter entitled “A Living Hope.” Peter’s words to believers facing hardship and uncertainty feel especially relevant to us at this time….We pray that this new series will strengthen the congregation, build our faith and help us to keep our eyes fixed on the Lord in these trying times.
Thank you once again for standing with us and for remembering Israel and our congregation in your prayers….To partner financially with Kerem-El click here.

Rania Sayegh, the Christian Arab prophetic intercessor from the House of Prayer & Exploits in Nazareth writes, “Arab Deborah’s Arising is more than a conference. It is a gathering of women seeking God’s presence, growing in His Word, and being strengthened and equipped for the season ahead. As we count down these final 40 days, we pray that women from across Israel will come hungry for God and leave with renewed hope, deeper faith, fresh courage, and greater confidence in His calling.
