All Nations Shall Come Up Against Israel

Recently I watched a respected Israeli Messianic prophet teaching online about the end times. Asher admitted how he could not understand why so many Christians did not believe that “all nations” would come up to destroy Israel.

I know it is difficult for American Christians to accept the idea that “all nations” will one day join together in an overwhelming force to annihilate Israel. It’s difficult, but it is Bible. The prophets say it plainly. Isaiah, Joel and Zechariah all describe it, but many Christians in the not long ago past could not fathom how their nation could be involved. American Christians found it impossible to see the United States participating in such a thing. Our nation was founded on the Bible and the Rock of Christian faith in the Man from Galilee.

At this point it may be much easier to believe as we see many American Christians suddenly clamoring to stop all U.S. support of Israel. That abandonment of Israel is happening throughout the “Christian” Western world along with a global rise of anti-Semitism. Christians are suddenly parroting classic anti-Semitic tropes with a new twist of accusing Israel of genocide. The accusation could not be farther from reality. It is a lie that no honest person could buy into. And there is the rub, isn’t it? Our Western nations have turned their back on Christian faith and the degradation of our moral fiber is that now a great many of our citizens prefer lies to God’s truth.

As John 3:19-20 explains it, “. . . but men loved the darkness rather than the Light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.”

So what does that say about American Christianity? Is this not a good description of the great falling away – the apostasy or rebellion that 2 Thessalonians 2:3 speaks of? What issue do you think would mount high enough in rebellion to God’s Word if not a Christian refusal to accept God’s promises to Israel of restoration?

Rebellion against God can take many forms but at the core of each of them there appears to be a mutual hatred of Jews, Israel and Zion. It is a pattern I observed early in my faith, that groups like the Klan or Aryan Nations, or even Black radical groups, their main grievance could be about anything else – even environmentalism – but the shared thread is they all developed an anti-Semitic point of view too. That is the reason that Islamists can merge with any group that is in any rebellion to God to use as allies until they are no longer needed to add strength to the Islamist position.

Many who are making anti-Semitic claims among us today are also proclaiming “Christ is King”. Saying Christ is King does not clear them of having fallen away into apostasy. They may ‘identify’ as a Christian but if they are not living as Christians in God’s eyes, they are only fooling themselves. To condemn Israel and hold up the lies of terrorists is not the least bit in keeping with God’s Word. It is ungodliness personified. If they do not repent and turn away from this, it could well be to their eternal sorrow.

Where we sit now is at the maturating of rebellion against God in every nation of the earth. It will take the Second Coming of Jesus – Israel’s Messiah Yeshua – to put the rebellion down as He sets foot on Mount Zion. With a Word He will slay all the enemies of the international armies attacking Israel. I have no idea how close we are to that time, but I do know we are closer than most people realize.

ALL nations will come together to destroy Israel because they have failed to do so many times across the span of history. During the Exile, nations set out to kill or drive all Jews from their state. This has happened in every nation that Jews have ever lived in during the Exile. It will happen in the United States too. Since God orchestrated the restoration of the State of Israel in 1948, their neighboring nations have come to destroy Israel in many combinations of alliances. Every attack mounted against the Jewish people has ultimately failed.  That’s God.

God will not allow Israel be destroyed. What’s more, He will continue to hand Israel victories against the enemies who continue to come. These will not be easy victories for Israel. They will be hard fought, with many losses, and tears among the people of Israel. In the midst of these things, the hearts of Israelis will be softened and changed. The Remnant of faith in Israel, the Messianic Jewish believers will hold close to their heart the promises of God, and many Israelis will come to faith and freedom even in the darkest of days.

The world may not be able to see the truth of this matter, but that must not intimidate any of us who do see the truth. We are called for such a time as this. Just as in the first century of apostles and believers were called to see and accept that God was expanding salvation beyond the Jews unto all the nations, so we are now to see and accept the reverse is returning salvation to the Jews.

When the prophets said that “all nations” would rise against Israel and gather to Jerusalem to execute the “Final Solution” by killing every last Jew,  that does not mean that every person in every nation will be in agreement with the attack. It only means the Christians who remain alive and who understanding of God’s plan will be outnumbered by those who lead us. It does mean that there will be sufficient rebellion against God in all the nations to come together in a unity to annihilate Israel. This is the point that will require the Lion of the Tribe of Judah to return to Jerusalem to stop them.

One other thing will happen before that. Yeshua told Israel in Matthew 23:39, “for I say to you, you shall see Me no more until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’”

Before the Lord of Heaven’s armies comes down to Jerusalem to save Israel surrounded by their enemies, Israelis will have come to faith in numbers so large that Paul could call it “all Israel” without exaggerating.
This sentence “you shall see Me no more until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.’”  Number one this “Lord” is not referring to Father God, or the word LORD (all caps) would be used for yᵊhōvâ.

What the sentence does say in the original language, is that Israelis will “see” Yeshua because “see” is  hor-ah’-o, meaning properly to stare at, (but by implication) to discern clearly (physically or mentally.  It means they will no longer see Jesus as the “god of the gentiles” but they will discern Him clearly as the promised Messiah of Israel.

And we know that this sentence is speaking of Yeshua as “Lord” and not Father God, because the word used for “Lord” is kyrios (koo’-ree-os), meaning “he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master, lord.”

The way I have read this for many years is that Jesus was not telling Israel, Blessed is Yeshua who comes in the name of God the Father. The original language confirms this. Yeshua was saying that when Israelis recognize and bless those who belong to Yeshua, who come in Yeshua’s name to Israel.

God WANTS Israel and the Church to be wholly in unity with each other and God the Father, through faith in Him, Yeshua. This can only be when those who belong to Yeshua are blessed and welcomed by Israel. This is a great mystery, but it is going to unfold fast now. . .faster than we have been expecting.  A nation can mass forces to attack Israel without every single person in the nation agreeing with the action. All it takes is a big enough majority of the citizens who would back a nation’s leaders launching a concerted attack on Israel. The despising of Jews and Israel has happened so fast all over the world including in the USA, that we are so close to that majority favor already. How could it not be believed?

The Word of God is true that “all nations” will join together to attack and to destroy Israel at the same time. However, Israel will have already seen that this Yeshua is who we have been saying He is. They will already in massive numbers have said, “Blessed is he who comes in the name of Yeshua our Lord whom we belong to.  

It will be Him, the Messiah of Israel, who will come to save them . . .and all of us who remain alive until that day.
